The magical 11-11-2013

11-11-1997 is a red letter day for me and my family, because it was the day that I was born into my family! *yay!* I am a very lucky girl who has all the people around me showering me with infinite love and cares a lot about me. For this, I am thankful to God. I'm thankful to God that I'm still alive and I am officially 16 yesterday! So... you guys should be able to guess that yesterday was my birthday right? :P

This year, my birthday was a very special and different one. My friends had organised the most surprising birthday party for me. It's not exactly a party cause a party is an event where we can see balloons bouncing here and there and spraying cans scatter all around the floor everywhere, but it's really a very touching little turning-to-sixteen "official ceremony". I was really surprised girls, thanks! I have to thank Mei Ying & Xiao Wei for your cake and flower petals xD Kirrthana, thanks for always putting up with my nonsense attitude for the whole time and thanks for that little party and your lovely present. Xiang, thanks for the pins. Yes they are absolutely definitely unmistakenably very handy. Ying Xin (star), thanks for your post-it and Wei Yan, thanks for your handmade butterfly key chain. Had a blast of time with you throughout this year! And Min Qi, I really appreciate your handmade bracelet! Honestly, I had never expected that someone would crochet a bracelet for me. You're so sweet Min Qi! Thanks a lot! *hugs* Sze Chyi, thanks for your silver star and as you wish, I'll be the blazing one, standing out from the crowd for you! Chee Ching, I really love the bookmark that you gave me. It's so pretty thank you!

The presents I had received on my birthday! :D

Presents on the 2nd day! :D This picture just won't rotate ><
Also Shen Zao, Leanie, Yee Hang, Sze Chyi, Mei Ying, Xiao Wei and Kirr, I'm glad that you guys are with me when I needed moral support to gather up my bravado and make a brisk decision. Thanks for giving me the courage to decide and be free from the cage of glum. And thanks to my family members too who wished me happy birthday and who sent me funny video clips to wish me happy birthday. Thanks to my parents and grandma, who have always been taking good care of me since the past 16 years and also be more than willing to sacrifice for me :')

To celebrate my birthday and share the joy with you guys, I'm going to share with you 10 facts about me. I'll try to keep them simple and straightforward. I wanna let you guys to know the real me, and not who you think I am. So, brace for it!! The real me might me a lot different than the virtual me in your mind. Here it goes!

10 Facts About ME

1. My real name is Tan Jia Qi
Okay.. This is a bit strange, but I've gotta tell some of my overseas friends / acquaintances that my real name is NOT Jessica. Jessica doesn't exist on my identity card. It's a stupid name I came up with when was in form 2 (14 yrs old) cause all of my cousins have Christian names that start off with the alphabet 'J'. To join in the fun, I used the superficial name 'Jessica Qi Qi' to create my Facebook account. I thought that I could change my Facebook name back to my original one but then, I had changed my names for too many times and serves me right, Facebook rejected my request upon changing my name T.T

2.I love nature
I love nature a lot. I love the feeling when the biting wind blew upon my face and drizzling rain falling on my skin, giving a chill to run down my spines. Walking in the rain and allowing the raindrops to soak my attire makes me feel so alive. I love the breeze of the cold sea and the crisp air in the forest. I really love the greenery and lush of the bewildering plants growing in the wild. It kills me whenever I see the destruction that human race had placed upon our beloved mother nature. It really does. I don't like animals though. I have phobia to cats because I once stepped on the tail of a cat and the cat gave out a loud "MEOW~" and ran aimlessly which gave me an utter shock. So.. NO animals for me. Animals that do not bite is still okay with me but those with fierce eyes and unfriendly whiskers, no thank you.

3. I'm NO miss goody two shoes
A lot of people have been telling me over and over again that I look very quiet and easy-going (and "steam" as well). Easy-going is true, I am easy-going, but quiet is only a camouflage. I'm no quiet girl AT ALL. And being an active or rather a hyperactive girl doesn't make the name "miss goody two shoes" fit for me. I like to play prank on people and do a lot of childish stuffs that sometimes might irritate one who is in a bad mood. I don't talk with a very soft tone although I have a very soft voice that can barely be heard when I am talking with a bunch of very "loud" friends. See? I am no miss goody two shoes.

4. Shopaholic, yes I am
I'm a shopaholic who will never be tired of shopping and buying nice clothes and accessories. I crave for almost every fashionable dresses and eye-catching jeweleries and my mum nearly got to sell off the house because the temptation for me to shop is too hard to resist (this is not a fact, just exaggerating my passion for shopping) I LOVE jeweleries with star pendant like crazy! :D :D

5. Song maniac
I'm a song maniac who always hums the tune of certain pop music or sings lines from any pop songs in the class. My friend would be like: Can you please stop singing already? You've been singing for the pass one hour! >< I just can't help it, sorry /.\ I like to create songs sometimes but the songs were pretty awful. When I talk about superstars with my friends, I would always be seen whooping about and giving out excited yelps without fail. When no work is occupying me, I will always ask my friend to pick a song for me to sing for them, which I will then receive compliment from some and at the same time dismay from some xD FYI, I love to rap but I'm not a very successful rapper. LOL.

6. Red & blue hair dyes rawwkss!
I love red and blue hair dyes and I have a prophetic feeling that I will dye strips of my hair into red after I graduate from high school. I think that is why I love rockers so much because most of them dye their hair red. Also, people always wonder whether I dyed my hair brown or not. Please people, it's a definite NO! How can I abide the school rules and dye my hair when it's still not holiday yet? And FYI, I hate yellow and brownish hair dyes. Those colours make my healthy and silky hair looks so sick!

7. I dislike wearing skirts
Well, I used to wear skirts when I was in primary school like.. EVERYTIME and EVERYWHERE. I don't know what's wrong with me LOL. All of my friends back then wore shorts/pants and they kept on asking me why did I like to wear skirts. Probably all the influence from Barbie movies that I had been watching during my childhood years (I watch Power Ranger for most of my childhood time btw) So.. I don't know why I liked to wear skirts so much that it had became an obsession. I am being honest right now, to admit that I don't own any shorts/pants until I was 13. I bought my 1st shorts when I was in form 1 and from then onwards, I've never bought any skirts in my life. Skirts are way too uncomfortable, especially for a hyperactive girl like me who can never be glued onto a chair. Right now, I have 5 pairs of shorts/trousers/pants (excluding casual ones that I only wear in the house). Congratulate me! .__.

8. Not really into pink
Seriously, this is another fact about me that has a close relationship to my childhood years. When I was in primary school, I was the pinkish girl. Everything that I had bought must be in pink colour. Something bizarre is that, of all the skirts that I've bought when I was younger, they are all in pink colour (except for one or two) >< If I like a pencil case a lot and it has a myriad of colours to choose from, don't even give a second thought that I would go for other colours but pink. Because of my over-enthusiasm for pink when I was small, pink can never be my favourite colour again because I found out that pink is so not me. I like blue, gray and dark brown now. Light pink is still okay with me though. Any colours that are not too vibrant is fine with me.

9. Sometimes, I can be dull
Didn't I just say that I'm an hyperactive girl? Don't get me wrong, I am! But an hyperactive girl can also be out of battery sometimes. I do speak a lot for most of the time and I am always too noisy that my friends had to call me to SHUT UP. But I can be very quiet at certain times. Under a few circumstances, I am very unusually quiet.
- Firstly, when I am thinking. When I had a sudden feeling of deja vu or I could've just witnessed an incident that had a huge impact on me, I tend to think a lot. Really a lot. I just keep on thinking and thinking questions like "what if..." or "but why..." or "he/she should..."
- Secondly, when I am reading novels. Please don't talk to me when I am reading a novel cause it's very distracting. Sometimes, I might shoo the person off unconsciously by waving my hands off to her when she tried to approach me while I am reading a novel. I'm sorry if it's very offending to you guys. Again, I can't help it! >< It's in my nature.
- Thirdly, I'm just very exhausted or my mood is very much affected. Nothing much.

10. Emotional & sentimental
Emotional is my second nature if sentimental is the 1st. I can be quite emotional sometimes especially when somebody does something that pisses me off. One of my close friends even saw me crying while laughing at the same time once and she said it was pretty eerie 0_0 I really hate it when somebody tries to get everything into her control but when everything has gone awry, she starts to blame people and cry because everybody is spewing her with negative comments. I'm not a judgemental person but I really hate people who are very pretentious and giving off all those unneeded false sincerity. When it really got on my nerves, I can just spit everything out no matter to who. I still remember once when I was very angry with Chien Hooi for being over-defensive that I just blah all the hateful stuffs to my English tuition teacher - Pn Cheah while all the other students were gnawing at me like I had turned into a monster. But, I am also very sentimental and I am a cry baby, especially when I am watching Korean dramas. I'm easily touched by little act of kindness and all those little things that people do for me. It's hard for me to forget all the good things that people had done for me because they never fail to touch the depths of my heart. I do remember.

I hope you guys learn a little something about me through this post and just wanna let you guys know, I really love you guys! *kisses*

Jessica's back in da HAUZ!

"A big hello to you people who still view my blog after my blog has been dilapidated for so long :P 1st of all, I would like to express my gratitude to you people who has been giving me unconditional love and support the whole time and thanks to all of you who really love my blog, even it's not actually that good. I'd say I'm an amateur in blogging and I'm really trying my very best to express myself through words. Sharing my little world with people out there who are yearning to know me better is my pleasure. I am thankful that I have you guys with me the whole time." :') *feeling touched & grateful*

Enough being said, this week, imma share with you guys some of my recent discoveries on YouTube. YouTube is basically my daily medicine and I could never ever recall anytime that I've had my laptop on without listening to songs on YouTube or without viewing YouTube videos. I got to know from my British Council friends - Jane, Ginger and Kyle that there are some people who are called YouTubers that actually post their videos on YouTubes. Their video logs are mostly about their daily life, facts about themselves or some controversial topics.

List of my favourite YouTubers:
The 1st YouTuber that I came across is - Ryan Higa. Some of my friends were viewing his video at British Council during the break time, and to be honest, I wasn't taking the video seriously at 1st because I really had no idea about who YouTubers were or what these videos were back then. Unable to resist my curiosity, I began to search for Ryan Higa's videos all over in YouTube after I reached home. Surprisingly, his videos are no craps. They are hilarious, inspiring and a good dose of energy booster when you are doing your homework in the middle of the night :D One of his videos that really got me agreeing with him from head to toe was the one he did on MAPOTI - Most Annoying People On The Internet. It is really an awesome video and what he said in that video was so freaking true. This guy is a laughing stock himself sometimes. It's just so entertaining and funny to see him disagreeing with himself in his videos. I also love his Skitzo videos and among all of the fictional characters in Skitzo, my favourite is Regina. You guys should go check his Skitzo videos out! Don't forget to subscribe as well! :D

He is my 2nd favourite YouTuber - Cornor Franta. He has a pair of green eyes which he had mentioned in one of his videos :D  He's a guy who is very random and all his YouTube videos were mostly very useful tips and he grasps teenagers' angst very well. It's like he can read my mind and do a video evolving around topics that a majority of teenagers would be interested in, such as - how to know if a guy likes you, things that he doesn't understand about girls. His appearance has changed slightly from the past few years until now but that little changes are more than enough to enhance his natural charm. He's just so random and I really love his randomness. The 1st time when I saw his video, I swore that imma write a letter to him someday. He's really a fun guy and a guy who is not afraid to show us what's beneath his skin :D He posts new videos on YouTube on every Monday so make sure you'd view his video and subscribe to him!

This dude is SWAG. He's one of Corner's friends and I think they got to know each other through YouTube. He looks so sunny and he's so funny. DANG!! Although he's not extremely good looking, but his videos are very funny and one of his funniest video was the one that he played prank call on people by asking them out for a date. But all of his prank calls were epic fails because his voice actually slowly slipped back to his normal voice and eventually they knew it was him. It was pretty funny though. His parents had divorced when he was still a little innocent and dewy-eyed boy but that doesn't affect his psychological balance at all as now I see in his videos is a presentable boy making funny YouTube videos and trying to bring positive influence into people's life from all around the world. He has a very sexy voice that I find it very mesmerising *_* (I'm under his spell) To understand him better, you can view his "Draw My Life" video and you might find him an interesting guy as well, just like the way I do ;)

Additional info: Btw, Cornor and Justin and a couple more of their YouTube friends like Ricky Dillon have a collaborated channel on YouTube called - "our2ndlife". All of them usually take turns to post their videos on that channel so make sure you go and check this sub channel out as well.

Some of the other really cool and awesome YouTuber channels that you should also subscribe to:

So that's about it! Do tell me how you feel about their videos and which is the best to you after you've watched their videos. I am really curious about what you guys think. And also please don't forget to share with me other YouTubers that I have not discovered on YouTube yet. I'd like to watch their videos too!

Happy Deepavali and have a great weekend!
